We invite students to create a short video that defines or teaches any of the words from the Word of the Day collection
Contest dates: March 20th – April 23rd, 2024
*This activity follows the structure of The New York Times' contest for high school students.
If you are inspired to create your own video, below you’ll find the rules and more information to participate that you must follow:
Select any word from the Word of the Day collection
Create a 15- second (or shorter video that defines or teaches the word
Make sure you pronounce your word aloud, define it and give the part of speech.
To submit your entry you can either submit a MP4 video file OR upload your video to Youtube and share the link to mcdelgado@uninorte.edu.co
Having your video featured on Naife and on the Instituto de Idiomas Instagram profile.
- First place $150.000 DuNord vaucher
- Second place $100.000 DuNord vaucher
- All words must come from the Word of the Day collection PDF.
- Pronounce the word aloud, define it and identify the part of speech.
- Work alone, with a partner or in a group.
- Only one submission per student.
- Your video should be no more than 15 seconds, but it can be shorter.
- Your video should help viewers understand and learn your chosen word.
