Fernando García Menendez

Profesor Asistente en el Departamento de Ingeniería Civil, de la Construcción y Ambiental en la Universidad Estatal de Carolina del Norte. Recibió su Ph.D. en Ingeniería Ambiental por el Georgia Institute of Technology. Fue Postdoctoral Associate en el Center for Global Change Science and Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences en el Massachussets Institute of Technology. Su investigación se centra en desarrollar herramientas computacionales basadas en métodos numéricos, análisis de incertidumbre y modelos de evaluación integrados para simular interacciones entre sistemas humanos y ambientales. La investigación actual incluye esfuerzos para simular el efecto de los incendios forestales en la química atmosférica, evaluar los impactos de las políticas de mitigación del cambio climático en la calidad del aire y evaluar la incertidumbre en las proyecciones de los efectos en la salud asociados con la contaminación del aire.

Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at North Carolina State University. Received his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He was a Postdoctoral Associate in the Center for Global Change Science and Department of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His research is focused on developing computational tools based on numerical methods, uncertainty analysis, and integrated assessment modeling to simulate interactions between environmental and human systems. Current research includes efforts to simulate the effect of forest fires on atmospheric chemistry, evaluate the impacts of climate change mitigation policies on air quality, and assess uncertainty in projections of health effects associated with air pollution.
